What is the Competition Integrity Contract?

The Competition Integrity Contract (CIC) is a set of guidelines that outlines the expected behavior of teams in FIRST Tech Challenge. It is divided into two categories: Sporting Ethics Code and Behavior Guidelines. The CIC defines ways that every team should behave, both at and outside events, to protect the integrity of the competition and ensure fair play.

According to Section 1.5 Competition Integrity Contract (CIC), the CIC is part of the Framework of Behaviors that shapes the culture of FIRST Tech Challenge.

The Sporting Ethics Code, as described in Section 1.5.1 Sporting Ethics Code, includes principles such as not cheating, behaving with integrity, and playing the game as intended.

Teams are required to follow the CIC, as stated in Rule G202 *Follow the Competition Integrity Contract (CIC). Violations of the CIC may result in escalation and/or mitigation, as outlined in Section 1.5.3 Infractions, Mitigations, & Escalation.
