Robot build & inspection

We are looking for some parts similar to Rev's Duo flapwheels, but our robot is 99% gobilda. Is there any gobilda equivalent? Or any way to use rev parts with a gobilda motor?

Answer

According to the goBILDA documentation, goBILDA does offer a range of wheel options, including mecanum wheels, omni wheels, and standard wheels. However, I couldn't find any direct equivalent to Rev's Duo flapwheels.

That being said, you can consider using goBILDA's Omni Wheels or Mecanum Wheels as an alternative. These wheels are designed to work with goBILDA's motor system and may provide similar functionality to the Duo flapwheels.

If you still want to use Rev's Duo flapwheels with your goBILDA motor, you may need to use an adapter or modify the wheel to fit the goBILDA motor shaft. goBILDA's motors have a 6mm shaft, while Rev's motors have a 6mm or 1/4" shaft, so you may need to use a shaft adapter or a custom-made adapter to connect the Rev wheel to the goBILDA motor.

You can also consider reaching out to goBILDA's customer support or checking their forum for more information on using Rev parts with goBILDA motors. Additionally, you can check the FTC forums for discussions on using mixed vendors' parts in FTC robots.

Please note that using mixed vendors' parts may require additional modifications and may affect the overall performance of your robot. It's essential to ensure that any modifications or adaptations you make comply with the FTC rules and regulations.
